More Turbines - less power in 2010
Latest Government statistics show onshore wind turbines have 21.9% load factor.
Onshore turbines produce an average of 21.7% less power in 2010.
In the latest figures released by DECC - The Department for Energy and Climate Change show a 7.7% fall in the amount of power generated by on-shore wind farms, in spite of more turbines being built in 2010. The average load factor was only 21.9% for the year, equivalent to wind turbines only working one day out of five.
